Super Combat 3
A downloadable game
Welcome to Super combat 3. A 2 player vs combat game with bonus point scoring objectives such as rescuing hostages and destroying players bases.
Controls:
Push the joystick in the desired direction and press fire to fire weapon A.
Press fire on its own with joystick centred to fire weapon B.
When a player collects the fuel can, their fuel gauge fills up and you can now use the tank if one is available. Simply run into it. You are now invincible until fuel runs out. Your opponent however can still spoil your fun by shooting you with rockets, or grenades. Any explosion will reduce your fuel levels.
Control the tank by:
Joystick forward to move forward.
Joystick back to reverse.
Joystick left/right to rotate left or right.
Fire to fire.
Special controls:
Hologram
Picking up the H weapon gives the player a hologram to use.
To use it press fire to activate then continue to move in the same direction. The hologram of yourself will run in the opposite direction until you change direction, then he will mirror your movements. Pressing fire will cause him to explode.
Joystick missile
When firing the joystick missile you can guide it with the joystick left or right. Note you are particularly vulnerable at this point.
Time bomb
When collecting the time bomb the timer starts going down. You have 15 seconds to place the bomb before it explodes. It can kill you also, so be careful.
Hostages
On certain levels you will find hostages. Collect them and guide them back to your base. Once there they cant be moved, however you can steal a hostage being taken by your opponent by killing him first. A 2 point bonus is awarded for each hostage rescued at the end of the level.
Destroy H.Q
Some levels have bases to be destroyed. You can only do this by placing a time bomb in the building. This awards a 5 point bonus. Once destroyed it cant be destroyed again.
About
A game I made in 1995
Written in assembler on an original Amiga, lost and recovered thanks to emulation.
Readily available on the internet rom sites but as I wrote it, I'm hosting it here on my own site.

Nice game that feels like a mix of Cannon Fodder and Commando for two players. Our German-language review can be found at 02:25:49. English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. 🙂
fun game and runs smoothly on my A4000/040. Just to be clear, what are the minimum system requirements? A1200 only? Or A500?
Hi. It was coded on an base A1200, although it doesn't use any A1200 features except the extra memory. It did run on A600 back in the day however I cant get it to run under emulation on anything less than an A1200 standard configuration.
It would definitely be really fun to play with a friend, too bad I didn't have one. I added it to my video along with other games released in March.
No one has any friends anymore it seems. cmon, guys local multiplayer are the best. Organise some meets ups! haha.
Seriously though thanks for the review, appreciated :D
Nice game!
Thanks. Appreciate its a difficult one to show being 2 player only. Nice job.
very good
Great game, thanks.
Sounds like the source was lost? Sorry to hear that... At least you found the binary! I managed to recover a few of my own Atari 6502 assembler games from hard copy source printouts I'd found. That was extremely tedious, but also rewarding.
I had a box of disks that i kept for ages and then for some reason chucked them away thinking i would never need them again. Regretting it now.
